13 months in French oak.
Description
This Malbec is one of the most cherished wines from my winery. Produced with grapes from Paraje Altamira, Valle de Uco in Mendoza, at 1,150 m.a.s.l. (3,770 ft.), it was aged for 13 months in French oak. Intense yet affable, this wine expresses all the power, elegance and pleasure that Argentine Malbec can offer.
Food pairing
Red meat, pork, poultry and stuffed pasta.
Tasting notes
A wine of intense ruby red color. It displays aromas of blueberries and blackberries, accompanied by subtle floral notes and hints of licorice. It has an intense
yet smooth body, with an elegant finish and rounded tannins.
Vinification
Hand-selected clusters. Fermented at a maximum temperature of 28C (82F) with selected yeasts. In contact with the skins for 35 days. Preserved on lees with battonages.
Winemaker
Joaquin Hidalgo, wine critic, described it for Vinous: "voluminous and generous on the tongue with a lengthy, herbal finish."
